The raven has always been the favorite bird in all the pagan sagas, symbolizing the power of the fates to take life at the peak of battle. They represented the Morrigan, the goddess of war, and on the back of the Aberlemno circle cross there is an ancient inscription commemorating a battle that ends "And after this, they were all food for ravens." This beautiful powerful bird is shown perched within the spirals of an ancient La Tene style bronze mirror. It gives the bird a grounding, and expands the tattoo to a larger size that works to wrap gracefully on the body.
