In the basement collections of the Museum of Antiquities in Edinburgh, Scotland, an extremely weathered stone bears the carving of the triple horse goddess Epona. This is an interpretation of the barely visible knotwork that ties it into the necks of the horses, so that the knots and weaves become their flowing manes. |
